    The entire length of the Corps of Discovery’s journey was Indian Country. On many occasions, Lewis and Clark’s survival and success depended on Indian people and the cultural lessons shared. Any complete commemoration of the bicentennial must prominently feature the perspectives of both the people native to the North American continent and President Jefferson’s explorers. This national conference was scheduled for May 28-30, 2003 at The University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. The Proceedings and Conference Digest DVD are available.
